FAQs
What kind of leather do you use for your mats?
1
We use premium 3-4 oz leather sides from professional wholesalers. This weight is specifically chosen because it is incredibly supple. This leather feels great under your cards and rolls up easily for transport.
Will the laser etching fade or rub off over time?
2
Not at all. Unlike printed mats, our laser process physically etches the design into the material. It’s there for the long haul, whether you’re playing a weekly session or a three-year campaign. Our leather is sealed with Fiebing’s Resolene, offering long-lasting protection from friction and spills, while also sealing in any paint, dye, or antiquing applied.
How do I care for my leather gaming mat?
4
In most cases, a quick wipe-down with a damp cloth or paper towel will take care of any accidental spills or goops. You’ll want to avoid excessive rubbing. If the finished side of your mat starts to lose its luster, use a mild leather cleaner designed for finished leather, such as Fiebing’s All Purpose Cleaner & Conditioner. Never use alcohol, acetone, or harsh solvents, as these will remove the Resolene finish. Avoid leaving your leather in freezing temperatures, as the Resolene will fail.
How long until my order ships?
7
We aren't a giant warehouse; we're two guys in a workshop. Most items (in stock) ship within 3 business days, but custom orders take a bit longer. Quality takes time, and we won’t ship anything we wouldn't use at our own table.
I’m local to the Austin area. Can I just pick up my order?
8
Unfortunately, no. We do not currently have a brick-and-mortar store. Gabe does currently commute for work to the Austin area, allowing us the option of a local delivery.
Do you make gear for other games like Pokémon or D&D?
9
Definitely. Our mats and accessories are built for any game that requires a table and a sense of adventure. Shoot us an email at sales@endelgames.com to tell us your idea! If you’re serious about your proposal, we’ll work out the details. See our Custom Leather Playmat Consultation for more information.
My mat has a small mark/scuff on it. Is it defective?
3
Not at all! We embrace the "character" of the hide. Your mat may feature natural imperfections like bug bites, minor scuffs, or even branding from the original tannery. These aren't flaws; they are the history of the leather, ensuring that no two adventurers ever have the exact same gear.
Can I provide my own artwork for a custom mat?
5
Absolutely. We take customer-provided images and run them through a professional workflow (refining them in Photoshop and optimizing them in Lightburn) to ensure the laser captures every detail.
Do you use art from other creators?
6
Occasionally, we collaborate with other artists or purchase specific SVG files for our designs. We believe in the maker community, so we always ensure those creators are compensated fairly for their work.
